New creation about fabric bag

A new category of handiwork has been created - fabric bag. I love to apply hand-stitched method on my little creations as I love it's primitive yet simple. And also, I am so obsessed with all embroidery, fabric and shimmery things always so inevitably cotton threads, different kinds of fabric, beads and rhinestones etc would be used. Two styles of fabric bag have been made and some new ideas have run out in my mind already. I will experiment on it, more bags will be coming soon.

Just finished! The first hand assembled clothing at Bluesy Mod - a plain black cotton blend cardigan that I assemebled the red buttons and hand stitched embroidery badge on it. For this one, it's one-off piece, I'm quite pleased with it. What do you think?

Came back from the Korea trip last week and just have time to write a post now. Buying and eating a lot during this trip, and the most great thing is I had a wonderful time with all my dear buddies. Can't wait for our next happy journey girls!

SO EXCITING !!! Bluesy Mod was on Apple Daily Supplement Page last Thursday (28th April) ! I was fully occupied working in store last few days so just able to write a post until now ... Hi All,

How are you doing? Hope you all are doing well! Since from the last time I wrote here about there would be a big news about Bluesy Mod, I am so exciting to announce my very first physical store was opened on 17th April 2011! The store is coming with some of my handmade pieces and the fashion goodies which I'm sourcing include clothing and accessories. I have spent several months to do the preparation like administraion works, sourcing products, interior decortaion, designed and printed promotional and packaging materials etc ... though it's just a little store for me at the first attempt, those stuffs have to be managed have already drove me crazy and am' feeling a bit exhausted. However, I'm still very thrilling that I have made my dream become true! A simple grand store opening party was held on last Sunday and am' so grateful that my family and beloved friends have come to join and showing their great support! And for those my dear friends who have come or will come to visit, I also want to say a BIG THANKS to you! Love you all!!

At this moment, I still need time to familiarize myself with the store running procedures, it's really not that easy as I imagined at the beginning but hopefully I will familiar with those works soon. Store updates and new goodies picture will be posted on the Bluesy Mod facebook page gradually from now on so please keep an eye on it. And you are very welcome to visit my store too!

Haven't written here for a while since from the Chinese New Year of February. Hope all of you are doing well.

Regarding the dreams of developing my business I have mentioned last time, finally it will come true! Right ~ I MADE IT!!! Sorry for the lack of updates lately as I'm busy around for examining the feasibility of developing the business for bluesy mod. Fortunately I could take a little break in this Chinese New Year holidays and spend some time with my family, friends and make food! I believe I will still keeping busy in the next couple of months but I'm very exciting to see if I could work something out. Will share with you all later if I could make my dreams come true.

I was a bit absent from this space last week as it was keeping me busy for attending a graduation ceremony and a wedding party. It made me a bit tired but full of joy.

Lovely Monchhichi who wears the uniform of Communist Party of China with a bag reads "Serve the Compatriot 為人民服務". Salute ee and uncle m!

The feather and floral rhinestone brooch i made for wearing during the wedding party. I was tempted to make some romantic accessories for weddings, parties or everyday wear after making this brooch. i have experimenting with different materials now, see if i could create some fascinating pieces.

A bleak day with drizzling rain in Hong Kong, I covered with my cozy blanket, had a cup of hot chocolate, listened to Autumn Leaves by Eric Clapton and made the new piece, a half moon necklace today. Another one, snow knot necklace is the one I have made a few days ago.

Such a wonderful autumn weather in Hong Kong with full of sunshine and breezy these days! Well ... it's perfect to go out for a walk so I went for materials hunt! And yes, I have got some great goodies again that you can see part of them above. I especially love the leathers I found this time, different colors with beautiful and natural crinkles, so cool! I'm now thrillingly making things with all of them so anticipate load of new pieces will be put in shop soon!

Beside those valued Western customers and readers I always have, it is so thankful that I have started to gain some more Chinese customers and readers lately. I'm planning to start doing the bilingual writing (Chinese and English) as well as Chinese writing for part of the blog posts from now, so some of you could have one more reading language option. Unfortunately, I'm totally a dull one who type in Chinese so slow though I was a Chinese Language and Literature graduate ... shame. I hope "practices make perfect" and my Chinese typing tempo could be speeded up soon.

These days I'm mostly making the necklaces and bracelets with stitching and weaving. New stuffs will be in shop by end of this week or no later then next week. Come to have a peak if you have an interest.

Finally I have made it done of my handmade accessories shop adventure. Hurray!! What a long lasting project. Sigh~ Actually I could define it as a combination project too. Right! bluesy mod comes with handmade accessories and timeless vintages from now on. I have made such change because I want to keep the consistency of the shop image, make things to be more easy and efficient. My handmade direction can be mainly classified into 2 sorts, precise creation and simple statement. For the precise creation, they are much more complicated in craftmanship comparatively. For the simple statement, , they are something simple, minimal and versatile yet enough to add an accent on the whole look. New styles of accessories with some old favourites will be in shop. I keep making new pieces with those lovely material finds, part of them are limtied so they are just one-offs.

If you have an interest, please come to my new bluesy mod.

p.s. In the meantime, the old shop - silent mint is still undergoing, I will determine the operating direction of it later.

my nice relaxing weekend. congratulations! my bosom pal, rebe had got a niece - her younger brother and sister-in-law's new born baby girl. i and my other bosom pal,wynne visited rebe mother's home, enjoyed a great dinner and the 'pig knuckles and giner stew in chinese black vinegar' which is made among chinese people of cantonese backgrounds to celebrate the arrival of a new babies. it was really joyful and i always have the best time with my dear buddies. in this crzay hot summer, one of the favorite weekend activity is swimming and eating! on the other hand, i will have an innovation for my jewerly shops and i'm still working on the new jewelry at this moment (i will have the brand new pieces with some old favorites. for the silent mint store in etsy, it will be continue undergoing.) hope i could make them done in these two weeks and shop update will be posted here accordingly. and the last thing, i must have to show you all my very first handmade light box was done! i was so exciting that i have made it finally. i will going to use it for my jewlery shots but i think there are still things like lighting, angles, backdrop color etc have to be adjusted. will post the pictures shortly if i was success. finger crossed.

hope you all are very well and sorry for lacking of blog posts these days as i had taken a little break.

i have spent a week for vacation in taiwan - kenting and kaohsiung. it was a relaxing trip. i especially love kenting that made me even reluctant to come back to hong kong. there are many beautiful scenes with big sky, immense ocean and fantastic mountains. i enjoyed reading, swimming, snorkeling, eating, lying on the beach and sightseeing there. besides, people in south taiwan are very friendly and hospitable and the food is amazing too! oh ... i begin missing the blue sky and illimitable reaches of ocean in kenting now ... am' sure i will go there again where is really a lovely place to stay for holidays.

silent mint store update. 5 new pieces have been added into rover collection. it's too fun to do the color match! i decide to make more necklaces with big color contrast in bright and pastel color for this lovely summer or maybe some bracelets also. And recently, i'm obsessed with the sparkling accessories. it just looks cool to only wear one shimmery piece even when you go with a simple basic outfit in a day. it seems not that easy to find a favorite one with affordable price, a magnificent one is always too expensive ... so i decide to try to make it myself and shall post it here when i have done.

i'm so happy and exciting that i found some lovely beads last week and i'm planning to make the beadweaving pieces these days. 4 new works were added in store - rover / handwoven cotton and leathery rope with golden star bracelet in dark blue & in peach and rover / handwoven cotton and leathery rope with golden cast bead in black & in white. besides the star beads you saw in th picture, i have kept some other pretty beads which will be used in the new jewlery later.

walk around outdoor with such a beautiful weather after a few days with gray skies.

new favorite drink - cream choco milk ice tea. love the combination of choco and milk with just a perfect taste of sweetness. so relaxing for having it in the summer days.

self-made potato and egg salad with crispy bacon. simple and easy to make! i just love to prepare a large box and put it in freezer so i could have it anytime whenever i want a quick meal.

got my new toy (camera) finally. i'm so exciting and can't wait to take a lot of pretty photos everywhere. actually i have got a flick account but haven't uploaded pictures on it for a while but i'm sure i will do it more from now.

i have bought a mini stamp set yesterday and starting to make my d.i.y. product tags and business cards. it's so fun to piece each word together and it looks quite nice, right? haha ... i'm sure i will make a good use of it.

i have got some new cast beads and thin leathery rope days ago. i was thinking to make something which is subtle like my "a thread" bracelet and could be more stiff in touch. finally i have made the new pieces "a leathery thread with golden cast bead" in dark teal and red color this time. and i'm now having some inspiration and keeping my mind to make another new necklaces and bracelets, hopefully i could post more new creations in the very next days or early next week.

spectacles once were my everyday wear when i was nearsighted. i didn't like them much at that time as they were an obstacle in my daily live. however, my mind was changed. i love and tempted to buy eyewear more than before lately as they are no longer the medical apparatus for me now (i have done intralace so i can see clear all the time) but i'm more than treat them as a fashion accessory. there is a wide choice in frame styles and color to match with your daily outfit, hairstyle and mood etc. i think they are the little statement or complement for a look, you could be easily looked chic with a pair of them.

i have enjoyed a relaxing weekend , just spent times to catch up with my beloved buddies, had a walk under the breezy sunshine abd did my favorite cooking and eating as usual. thanfully, there were no rain at all.

my facebook 24 hours blast sale was end in this afternoon, thank you so much for the great support from my lovely facebook fan customer. it's fun to arrange such blast sale, i'm sure i will do it again later.

and i have created another handmade collection these 2 days - a thin thread bracelet which included dark blue, pastel green and pastel pink. they are listed in store now.

besides, many vintage lovelies are sitting behind me now. new listings are coming gradually.

i have attempted to make handmade pieces for myself since from my college times. i love to make jewelry as it's too fun to create a unique piece with my favorite materials and color which couldn't be found in the big shopping places.

i'm fond of simple jewelry for a long time. as i said from the previous blog post, i always love to match different pieces into a cluster or just wear one single piece. personally, i prefer an everyday necklace which could be gone with my various outfits, a subtle one could always easily become a statement on the look.

in fact, i have opened a little handmade jewelry store -- silent mint at the beginning of this year. since i have busied at my vintage shop in the last few months, i haven't worked much on it. now i have keeping bluesy mod vintage a bit on track so i could spend some times for making things and reactivataing the store.

i'm crazy around to do handmade pieces this week and finally i have got some of my little creative done! i can't wait to share with you guys a part of them here. apart from my vintage shop, i decide to focus on this jewerly store at the same time from now and possibly create a few items from time to time.

besides my store, i have also opened a page in facebook and signed up a twitter. updated news regarding silent mint will be posted there so please feel free to join me if you would like to get some updates of my handmade crafts.

have starting a productive week after i have spent a lovely weekend with my family. thankfully, it was shiny these 2 days and am hoping the sun will be risen every day so could say goodbye to rainy and humid days. (but according to the weather report, it seems will be raining again this coming weekend ... boo ~)

i just love to collect various styles of metallic jewelry. i have keeping the styles of simple, thin, bold, grunge etc. in my jewelry box, then layering them up into different clusters to match with the outfit on that day so i won't feel boring to wear them every time instead of only wear every single piece each time.

hurray ... HURRAY ~ i screamed ceaselessly yesterday when i just got my very first new dress form! i have tempted to buy one for a while of time. i was struggling as i wanted to make sure whether i really need one and where could i store it. finally i made up my mind, i'm very very sure i want to present my new chapters of vintage pretty with a beautiful new "girl" ... since i found my speed was seems too slow for listing new items in store while i was spending too much time on every single product shooting which was presented in peson, i believe i need to find a way to improve ... have a qualified presentation but which can be speed up ... so i confirmed my dress form order last week! i can't wait to try about 10 dresses, tops and skirts etc. on it when i brought it back yesterday. it's just so perfect even more than i expected ... i couldn't help to clap my hands and croon a happy song, fortunately there was no one in the room at that moment. i'm planning to make a good use of this lovely one but i will still showing some clothing in person when an appropriate styling is needed for the presentation.

since i'm obtaining too many beautiful pieces faster than i can shoot photos of them, i will expedite the process from now on ... so please stay tuned, more and more new spring summer pretty things are coming right now!
